As familiar as I am with scalable software design for non-game development projects, in this past iteration, I started to assess whether or not scalability is something I need to consider for video game design.
Video games are software, but they're not like any other software.
I have been dealing in software development for almost two decades at this point, but the more I tackle creating a commercial video game, the more I see how game development is just not the same.
My journey in game development continued with another completed iteration where game design was the focus. As the game started taking shape and a project started to form, the idea of scalable game design entered my mind.
Is scalable game design a thing?
This is what I reflect on in the devlog for this iteration.
